Our Intervention Strategy
We have developed a Four-Pillar Strategy comprised of systematic programmes with realisable and measurable outcomes that ultimately work to achieve the aim of realising a South Africa that delivers collective prosperity irrespective of who you are or where you come from.
The success of these programmes depends on the goodwill and volunteering spirit of our members. Whether you’d like to offer your finance expertise to help host monthly budget readings, or you’re a legal eagle wanting to help citizens litigate against unprocedurally approved tariff increases, your contribution edges us closer to getting governance right.
Pillar I: State Capacitation
The purpose of this intervention is to professionalise and capacitate the state through, but not limited to;
signing memoranda of understanding - the secondment of our members who’ve volunteered their professional services to to struggling departments
hosting monthly municipal budget reading webinars,
and improving management and governance of school governing bodies.
This is the intervention where you as professionals and business owners respond to the question “what can I do for my country?”
Pillar II: Accountability Infrastructure
Through our digital platforms such as
“The Best Department to Work Index” which benchmarks state department workplace environment standards against national and international standards
Municipal Performance Tracker (coming soon) members of the public log faults, reference numbers, turnaround times and resolution status, starting with The City of Johannesburg municipality and expanding to all 257 municipalities over time.
We aggregate an objective, evidence-based and end-user led scorecards that we use as an accountability-improvement measure.
Pillar III: Cost-of-Living Relief
We are an advocacy group and have developed various actionable cost-relief policy proposals we submit to the government on behalf of our members on an ongoing basis.
The middle-class experiences triple taxation by way of personal income tax, paying for private services such as medical aid, education and security and the double funding of government interventions such as commissions of inquiry arising from misappropriated funds.
Interventions in the pipeline include negotiated group master agreements with reputable Solar power providers who can lock in electricity at 20-30% below grid tariff with no upfront capital, no maintenance liability, and a CPI-capped escalation clause, we can afford our member households up to R1500 monthly electricity cost savings.
Pillar IV: Thought Leadership, Community & PR
Advocacy without evidence is noise. We commission research papers on the structural drivers of the cost of living: education, electricity, healthcare, and municipal efficiency. This research informs our intervention programmes.
The completed Cost‑of‑Living Report and the Education Fee Tax Deduction proposal are our first outputs.
To breath life into our work, we host monthly Provocations where we convene, converse and distil the issues that affect us all.
In this pillar, we also spotlight members of our community doing complementary stellar work, that contributes towards our mission of collective prosperity for South Africans.
